Why yes you can take your detachable door and detach it from the vehicle leaving behind the detached door as well as the now vacant door opening where the detachable door was detached from.

Saying the ring is smooth is like saying a teenagers face is smooth. It just isn’t. The ring isn't consider the green hell for nothing. Plus until driving it on real roads you have a controlled environment on the ring, well more controlled than being on the open road.
