The center stack, HVAC controls, multimedia unit, drive selector, and driver’s display are almost identical. True, the details are somewhat different, but, I mean, it’s the Mitsubishi Rogue, now with extra seats.

It probably *is* a Nissan Rogue.

Been driving a 50hp 70's car for more than 20 years and I’m still alive. Maybe you’re just a bad driver?

I can see the advantage of both.  The Samurai is far easier to get parts for which instantly makes it more valuable in my eyes.  Having driven a Samurai a lot, the lack of power is one of the most fun parts of it, slow car fast is taken to the extreme with it.  Also the convertible is a great time.

The giant tunnel fabricated to house the massive engine and transmission rendering no space for your legs makes this a big no.

Believe it or not, there are shows which exist that I have not watched.

You had the last generation Rogue which was a hateful pile of shit.

stock price > lives. You heard it here.

I saw the header and the first pic and knew it was Freiberger’s and Dulcich’s junkyard Roadkill thrash instantly. A cool piece of automotive journalism, but a sketchy POS, because: Roadkill! NP just because of the history, even if it is a junkyard born death trap. Not sure how a vehicle yanked from a junkyard has a

There hasn’t been a new car that is “dangerously slow” since the 70s.

I hear you. I think inexpensive, practical vehicles are important and Mitsubishi is filling the role of “cheapest on the market” without making it look (or feel, hopefully) like it wears that title. Budget-conscious buyers who need the extra space shouldn’t have to be relegated to penalty boxes.

This picks up where

Yeah, agreed. It’s fine! Look, we all miss the Lancer and aren’t fans of Mitsu’s dealers*, but (admittedly overdone chrome aside) this looks like a solid entry for a good price point. It’s not competing with a Palisade, it’s competing with a Rogue and a Sorento, and looks like it’ll be competitive while doing it.

The Rogue is awful. Granted we’ve been spoiled by having German and Italian cars for a decade, but even curving for that, a long-term rental Rogue (her SQ5 got hit and it took a while to get parts) was an absolute hateful pile of shit. Incredibly vague and light steering, hideously slow, hard plastic everywhere, cheap

I think this is also a problem for the designers. It seems like since the advent of LED headlights no one knows what goes where on the front end.

I actually kind of dig it.

Motor Trend would be smart to just crush this and any other highly modified project vehicle.

Good catch! This is obviously the car in the vid.

I’d sooner drive an A-bomb.

This isn’t even a vehicle.  It is an assembly of scrap parts.  ND.

I have a rule about never buying someone else’s deathtrap.
