Yeah, I’ve got a bunch of FJ80 and FZJ80—. As for this:

Bought an LX470 early last year and loved it so much I bought an LX570 at the end of the year to compliment it.

Open secret is that the GX is much better than the 4Runner. With the GX, you get a full Prado minus the diesel.

I’m sorry but i can’t even begin to tell you how wrong you are. all high end off roaders are predominantly 2nd and 3rd owner wheeling vehicles, the difference between a Land cruiser and other high end off roaders is that when these get to their 3rd owner they still have a ton of life left in them. my 2 Land cruiser

You’re right. i don’t consider a Tahoe a peer.

I just bought a 2011 GX. When I first starting looking for my next ride, I actually wanted a 4Runner, but 4Runners of the same vintage were going for way more than the GXs. Reverse badge snobbery indeed.

Why does an 80 year old woman ‘need’ that car?

Yeah, they are beloved.  I personally (probably because I’m drunk on the Kool-Air) think the FZJ80 is the best of breed... adequate power and crazy reliable.

Correction, in 15-years they will be cheaper at maybe half-off retail when new.

If I had $90,000 to spend on a second vehicle, I would definitely snatch one up.

As it is, see you used in 30 years, 2020 Land Cruiser Heritage Edition.

Man, this whole post is nail on the head.

I’d rather have an economy where the financial sector is managed to benefit people who work for a living instead of people who own for a living and people who trade financial instruments for a living.

The beatings will continue until morale improves!

When Mulally was running the show at Ford, the company was focused on making world-class products people want and value; small, medium, and large; cars, trucks, and utilities. And they were on their way to doing that.

Seriously. The rank and file workers don’t have anything to do with the fact that Ford decided to sell a bunch of mediocre cars that nobody wants. They just make what their bosses tell them to.

I must be crazy. I know I’m crazy. A profit of 7 BILLION dollars and it’s still doom and gloom because the margin is ONLY 4.4 percent?! You made 7 BILLION dollars last year! And investors are crying because maybe you coulda made more?! These people are fuck nuts. Time to take Ford private and off of the stock market.

Sounds like every American company these days, barring a select few.

Or perhaps, mediocrity continues to cimmaron.

Ford Management: “We’ve wildly over estimated earnings and made some very questionable decisions this year resulting in a loss of profit, jobs, and market share. So the workforce will have to pay for our bonuses, greed, and stupidity with their jobs.”
