@Wade McGillis: There is no cost for BlackBerry developers as long as you don't need access to blackberry API, though if you want access to the APIs, there is a one time free of $20.

@kyasanti: I agree with more developers on BB OS! Make me a free tetris game that doesn't suck already :(

If anything he should be supporting the use of Unity and other 3D graphics platforms since it allows developers to release more quality games, rather than spending months creating the engines. The more applications released, the likelyhood of more people buying them, thus they get the 30 percent cut.

Wish there was something like this for BlackBerry that didn't use the video camera app.

@Tobyus: I used Where's My Phone Pro, which operated through email. It works extremely well, and I may continue using it because of the great feature of remotely disabling, tracking or listening in from another phone with SMS, which is extremely useful in a situation like this:

@archercc: Now if we're going with built in applications.. I'd probably die without the SMS application on my BlackBerry... Keep in contact with friends and family who only have dumbphones.

PdaNet and BB SSH on my BlackBerry Bold 9000. There may not be a whole lot of good apps for the BB, though you can sure do a lot with a tethered laptop or my friend's VPS.

Anything free or paid for BlackBerry and desktop?

Really?! I bought Wheres My Phone (Correct spelling) a few months ago :(

@Bootes: I completely forgot about Skype for BB, then I checked it out and saw that. No support for Rogers :(

The BlackBerry Bold 9000 might be worth it that cheap... I love the hardware, though I wouldn't want to pay a huge cost if I actually had to buy it.

@monkey314159: Please tell me that you installed standoffs... If you didn't, the motherboard is shorting out on the metal case.

@vvaffle: I still wear a watch even though I carry my smartphone with me... Mostly due to me having to remove the phone from a pocket and turn it on rather than just LOOK at my wrist. Plus I don't care if I happen to get sand or water into a cheap Casio digital watch, I would if I got it into a BlackBerry...

@Xaoc: I'm likely going to pickup an old GSM nokia for the purpose of doing stuff in places I don't want to bring my BlackBerry Bold 9000. I've used them before and the simplicity is great!

They need more basic phones, the phone my mother has is just overkill. All she needs is the ability to make and place calls (With easy to configure speed dial) and send the occasional text...

Wake up Dr.Freeman, wake up and smell the ashes...
