If it looks like something I won't max, I go for medium or high settings and 4xAA. Then change accordingly. AA comes before most settings for me. Nothing gets me out of the experience like jaggies.
Most of the time I spend more time getting these to work and actually recognize my games and change the settings, than I actually would doing it manually.
GFE > scan for game > no listing > add game directory > scan > find settings > doesn't go through > launch the game > close the game > find settings > works.

This would be pretty cool. I use my PC for everything. It'd be nice to just set up a serial output through usb to my computer for simple functions like "PAUSE" send a spacebar signal. I'm sure there's instructions out there for doing that with the gpio.

Unfortunately then, the answer in short: No. Even using WINE (which is a compatibility layer for windows applications) the functionality is fairly broken.
Because if you're bailing on Linux solely to use iTunes as a media player, I think you're making a terrible mistake. iTunes is easily replaceable and Linux is one of the best things in the electronic world. I ask because I care <3
