Clinton comes off as super condescending in this, but I don’t feel like I can cast judgement on the exchange as a whole since I have no fucking clue what anyone is saying until that last line.
If I just went by what I read on this site/the comments on this site, I’d think she was worse than all the Republican candidates combined. As much as I enjoy this site... I may have to peace out until what? June?
As a Latina also supporting Hillary: expect nothing but contempt from white commenters here. They know what’s better for us and they are baffled that we dare to think for themselves and have reasons to vote for Hillary. How can we? They know what is better and they don't agree. We must be ignorant!
I might be a broken record here, but saying the 1994 crime bill (a bill written by Biden, voted for by Sanders, and supported by significant portions of the black community) lead to mass incarceration is just bullshit. it was a part of the problem, absolutely. but that bill was a federal crime bill. the vast majority…
10/10 excellent use of the high road and kicking off the long con to throw this back in the face of the GOP as we get closer to November
My ONLY complaint about voting by mail is they should be postage-free. I rarely have stamps anymore and while there are drop off locations, there aren't many and they aren't super convenient.
I love that album, but I don’t hear Cardigans at all in this except for a similar guitar sound. Because the Cardigans are good.
Ellen is interwoven for me with my own coming out. My parents were both fans of her sitcom, and had been watching up to that point, and I knew it. I, fourteen, read in the newspaper about how she was a lesbian, and was coming out on her show, and how big a deal this was.
This Gwen song is much closer to the singles on the Cardigan’s earlier album, Life. The guitar and melodies are spot on to one of the songs on that album, but I can’t place it without pulling it out and listening to it.
Cool, I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that we’re making these demands of the only serious female candidate and not making the same demands of any Republicans, or any other Democrats running for office anywhere. THAT is my point - not that this isn’t a good universal standard, but that it is ONLY the standard for her,…
They don’t have the infrastructure to deal with snow like we in Canada do.
Stop being friends with those morons.
I’m not sure the Academy should be the primary focus here. In all the discussions, only 3 movies are named that starred minority actors that should have been considered. Straight out of Compton, Concussion and Beast of No Nation. That’s out of, what, a couple hundred movies released in 2015?
Silly me. My husband and I (both hunting and gun-possessing citizens whose weapons were all legally purchased and are securely stored) just watched this and agreed with the vast majority Obama talked about. And I was remarking how I thought Obama did a really good job of reassuring people what these changes DIDN’T…
Trump is like a sentient Onion article that doesn’t realize it was born in satire.
as an editor for jezebel dot com and a person with a reasonable understanding of public health, i too am deeply personally averse to pro-life ideology! however, i do very much value people who are straightforward and sincere (and: respectful) about what they believe, to the point of prioritizing those beliefs over…
I don’t give two shits about whether or not Trump is serious. It’s more terrifying to see a large number of American voters saying “that’s a good idea!” It appears that many Americans, my parents included, support literal fascism.
As someone who recently finished a one month rotation at a teaching hospital for OB, I have to strongly disagree with many of the author’s assertions. I think the assumption that most physicians practice in the manner in which the author describes are inaccurate and I question what evidence the author had in making…
