Except that the lego figures *are* produced in China and these are legit ones stolen from the factories before being shipped off to Bilund to be put in the sets. Call him a cheapskate, call the chinese factory worker a theif, but they're not "bootlegs"

They aren't bootlegs, they're just sold loose and not in the sets. So if anything, he's buying legit figures from an illegal source, not a bootleg. Be pissed if you want, but get the lingo right.
