The idea that both sides are indistinguishably terrible is such an annoyingly inaccurate meme. (Even in the Clinton 90s, when the Democrats were at their most conservative, they were still miles better than the "Contract with America" Republicans.) It seems to be popular with the politically apathetic, the cynical,

When the president is that fucking outrageously atrocious, you've a moral and even a patriotic duty to mock the bastard, honestly.

Christians are a large, diverse, and overall a generally pleasant group of people. Fundamentalist, religious right, conservative Christians are a sizeable, outspoken, obnoxious and generally very cruel bunch of people. Pat Boone apparently falls into the latter group.

Christianity was a religion of the oppressed that got appropriated by the oppressors, and ever since it's been used as an excuse and an inspiration to oppress others.

And it was written by Neil Gaiman, too. You can see a lot of classic Gaiman-ness in the story, but it just. Doesn't. Work.

Considering how wildly inaccurate the portrayal of Persia is in both the comic and the movie, and what an Islamophobic bigot Frank Miller is, I think it's actually not terribly inaccurate to and call that guy a Muslim, since that's sort of the role he plays in the film.

Oh, honey.

"So, social justice warrior,"
""society prefers quality over my social causes""

They probably have.

Just you wait, that's going to be a monster in next season of Doctor Who.

He looks like a horrifically burned corpse which is still burning on the inside. He looks like Anakin after he catches fire on Mustafar. His hands look freakishly tiny and immobile.

"someone who could adequately convey the fear of those monsters"

Orci is indeed a confirmed 9/11 truther, and it's been said that his script for Into Darkness reflects his belief that the United States government falsely engineered the attacks.

Well, there are no force ghosts of any humans who aren't Jedi, so no, probably not. And according to a bit at the end of RotS, Qui-Gon was the first Jedi to become a force ghost, so probably Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Yoda and Anakin are the only force ghost at all in the entire history of the galaxy?

His red arm is, notably, matte and not shiny.

"It's a movie about the wonder of nature, featuring no actual nature? In which human ingenuity may be able to save the jungle, presented in a format where human ingenuity has made the actual jungle unnecessary?"

Goodman did, in fact, voice Baloo in 2003's straight-to-video-except-it-also-opened-in-theaters animated "The Jungle Book 2."

"If mainstream rock retained any vitality or vibrancy, Dan Auerbauch and Patrick Carney wouldn't have careers."
