I saw 'The Lion King' on Broadway, and the theater employed two or three people each performance whose job was to shine a flashlight at anyone they saw with their phone out.

He is apparently too stupid to tell the difference between Iron Man and Deadpool, which is probably also why he thought it would be a good idea to take his kids to an R-rated movie.

"the morning matinee crowd"

I found "The Little Mermaid" too frightening to watch at eight years old.

"It just pisses me off to know that this is happening."

"the number of people in their 20s who want a gold star just for showing up to work and doing their fucking jobs, too"

'Invisibilia' did an episode on fear which mentioned a study done in the 70's by researcher Roger Hart in which her surreptitiously followed children around to see how they behaved and interacted with each other when there were no adults around (obviously that sound creepy as fuck but ignore that).

U2 seems to get a lot of shit for being … I dunno, really. The pretentiousness (especially on Bono's part)? That's probably it. And their last album - the one they released along free to everyone on iTunes, whether you wanted it or not - sucked. The songs were just not very good. But their good stuff is really great

To me she's Exhibit A as to why treating Christianity as the root of all right-wing evil in Western civilization is actually a terrible mistake.

There's a line in "Childhood's End" (the book) where it's noted that in the future, animation has become indistinguishable from live-action film, giving filmmakers essentially complete freedom to see their vision recognized on screen. What's left for them is to choose how to utilize that ability, and how to decide

Even better - it's opening on April first.

Basically.
