Actually, the mothers always seem to be sexy and loving and mildly annoyed at worst with their husband's complete uselessness.

Ironically, it always seems to be the shows that embrace ~political incorrectness~ which portray white males as stupid, worthless and fat, while their wives are beautiful, intelligent and competent.

The baby received only some minor bruising, but the guard's hand, balled into a fist as it was when struck by the bullet, was mangled beyond the point of repair and had to be amputated. The photographs and x-rays of the injury are an absolutely horrifying sight to see.

For the longest while I was sure young Owen was played by that guy from those two episodes of Doctor Who and also the Baker from Into the Woods whose name is James Corden and who it turns out is pretty famous and has taken over from Craig Ferguson as host of The Late Late Show, even though James Corden and Joel

And the actor playing a Maori character doesn't necessarily need to be Maori specifically, but he absolutely needs to be Polynesian. There are no shortage of Polynesian actors, and there's no excuse for casting a well-known actor of a completely different race to play that role.

You're right that there's nothing wrong with having an actor of color play a character of color of a different ethnicity.

Mars Needs Moms.

I rather enjoyed "The Comebacks" for that reason. Even if it wasn't a particularly good movie, it was at least fun to watch.

And Poseidon had scales and a fin coming out of his head …

At least half the problem is the fact that there just aren't that many film getting made with actors of color in them, and least of all black actors.

"If people can complain about the race of Noah then we'll have to accept the complaints of idiots about the race of Heimdall."

That is a fair point; I forgot about that.

That would actually be pretty easy, considering the rather strong cultural and racial supremacism of the Japanese. Even a Korean or Chinese would be in much the same position as a Moor in Renaissance Europe.

Because both are people of color. Roles for actors of color are hard to come by, as are characters of color played *by* actors of color.

Really, it's the idea that all brown people are interchangable that makes that sort of casting almost as bad a whitewashing.

"Noah is completely fictional, so I don't get him as "white washing" either."

In the original book, they were called both "Red Indians" and "Piccaninnies." They were introduced as the "Piccaninny tribe" ("not to be confused with the softer-hearted Delawares or the Hurons"). Apparently, the word "Picaninny" was used to refer to brown "savages" from every corner of the Earth, not just

"she was built up by Han to be this complete badass with whom you did not want to fuck… and then she turns out to be a friendly little grandma"

Actually, the giant T-Rex (in the trapped-in-the-jeep and guy-gets-eaten-on-the-toilet in-the-rain scene, at least) was a massive animatronic. https://www.youtube.com/wat… Which is why that scene is so goddamn amazing.

Giant Evil Hologram Guy looked rubbery and fake and I didn't like it. Just use a guy in make-up and digitally add in the gaping wound in his cheeks!
