I can believe it, in that character names just leave my head super easily.

Very cool. I hope you have a great anniversary.
Hail, Caesar! is correct.
It's my birthday on Memorial Day itself, but I have the quandary that so many people are away that weekend and my parents are on a trip to Italy for both a vacation and a wedding. So, I have no real set plans, other than just looking for fun stuff to go to and probably catching some films.
That I haven't seen Munchausen? It's on my to-watch list! I definitely still have quite a few more of his to see, although it's increased in the past few years. I have seen the other two films in the thematic trilogy at least, with Time Bandits and Brazil.
Sorry, together meaning that they appear in the same film, whether they share a scene or not. Although, even under this definition, there is one more film other than Heat, although I'm sure both would be happy your forgot it. Right on the other ones though. We went with What Happened To The Morgans for the first one…
Yes, that is a pretty heartbreaking moment, especially with Raymond Burr's narration in the American version. Also, his meltdown in Godzilla Vs. Destroyah is pretty affecting.
Actually, on further review, Reilly was actually Chest Rockwell, not Brock Landers. I remembered from the night that Brock Landers was one of the characters, but it wasn't the one that Reilly's character was credited as. Still, at least you were in the ballpark, where my team wasn't anywhere close, in my case due to…
Correct on Dinosaurs and Gonzo. Incorrect on Muppets In Space, which was in 1999. The film from 1995 utilizes puppets more than actual Muppets.
Great to see you here again. And you're right on both the Frank Oz and Munchausen question. The Munchausen one was killing our team, as it seemed like something we should remember, but the person who had seen it before hadn't seen it since middle school age, so it didn't come to her.
artdork is her AV Club name. She doesn't post here often, but she posted quite a bit on The Dissolve. And dude, come to trivia!! You'll have a good time and will most likely be helpful for at least one question, which is all you need.
Sorry, clarification on the Deakins question. It's the last film he shot that's in theaters, not last film he got nominated for. Still right on Shawshank. Surprisingly, there are more films with John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon than just those two. Right on everything else, which is particularly good for Extreme…
Correct on all, including me mishearing Mel Brooks' character name in The Muppet Movie.
Very good. I've seen the spelling of the director to be Kim Ki-Duk, but perhaps your spelling would count. For Glitter, we overthought it and put down The Butler, as we didn't think they'd go for the obvious one. Frank Oz in Star Wars was the contentious ones, as the guest said it was six because of the vocals of Yoda…
It is indeed Shane! Good job.
An absolute joy of a night of Movie Trivia. We fielded two teams again, returning champions #MonsterSquadGoals and my team of Always Bet On Black Philip, which had a special visit from one of the A.V. Club/Dissolve commenters from Boston. On our team, we did a really good job throughout the night, tying for first…
Well, as seen with Norton/Ruffalo, even white guys can be interchangeable. And while Howard is fun to see onscreen, I'd still say that Don Cheadle's a good upgrade.
And, for the budget it had, What We Do In The Shadows had some good effects sequences, so a big budget film like Thor: Ragnorak shouldn't throw him off too much.
To be only mildly fair, if it was between Terence Howard and Mark Ruffalo, I'd still go with Ruffalo. Ruffalo just seems mostly very dim; Howard's been accused of actively being abusive and is also just as nuts as Ruffalo, particularly when it comes to math.
Solidarity there! But considering your film knowledge for a specific type of film from the 70's-00's, you more than make up for it.
