But why are they charging extra for it on top of the car’s purchase price? If they need to recover the costs of updating maps, etc. why don’t they just charge for people to do that when the maps need to be updated? That is the same way car manufacturers dealt with onboard navigation systems in the past.  You would

I’ll second this as well. I have a 2007, that I kind of wish would die so I could replace it. There is nothing I like about that car, but it refuses to stop taking me wherever I want to go, so it stays. It isn’t worth enough to trade for anything. Every time I put tires on that car I essentially double its value.

I still drive a single cab pickup (‘85 F150) so I may be in the minority anyway, but I would love the idea of a small electric single cab for in-town truck stuff. I don’t even need a lot of range, since the furthest I would drive is to Ikea 90 miles away, and I could easily recharge while I am there for the minimum 8

I concur on the TSX. I have a 2012 wagon, and although it is an automatic it is still a pretty fun car for a sensible family hauler. Certainly more fun than a crossover or a minivan. I have had it for about 5 years, and will happily drive it for another 5. Maintenance has been great; just oil changes, brakes and tires.

Will they still make the Fratzog out of prefabulated Amulte, like the originals? You can always tell when you install a Fratzog that isn’t made of prefabulated Amulite, because the Spurvig bearings start to get out of alignment with the panametric Fam.

I thought it was called the Krassler.

I love these wheels! The design is great. They make me think of shopping cart or stroller wheels, which I think is appropriate for the Twingo. I am not putting the Twingo down here, shopping carts and strollers are two things I can’t live without; and if they could make this a wheel cover that rotates somehow to

Not only that, I would argue that the police doling out vigilante style punishment like this is getting pretty close to anarchy. If the police don’t have to follow the law, why should anyone?

I do really want this car as well, even with the cracked K frame, I was tempted. HOWEVER, spraying the car down prior to taking pictures, and the Pennsylvania plates without any PA inspection stickers in the window are some big red flags.

But they are still shopping at Lidl!

YES! And this might be the one time that BAT totally makes sense. Those cars get bought and resold on that website all the time, and I think you have as good a chance at recouping the majority of the investment as any of the other suggestions so far.

3rd Gear: The aluminum tariff needs to go. While I realize there is a lot more involved, the price of aluminum cans for beverage producers went through the roof right after Trump’s tariff went into effect. The regional brewery I work at in PA has been on an aluminum can allotment for over a year now. From what I hear

So, I like the color scheme he picked and all, but they didn’t actually change the design of anything in the car from what I can tell. It seems like this is more of a “true meeting of the minds” of the marketing departments than it was of design departments.

Ugh.  Just Ugh.

What is that calculator for!? Is it just to spell “80085" to the passenger/co-pilot? I don’t know why but that calculator is the one detail that will keep me up at night.

YES! I really just want three things in the car to be standardized so I can switch them out or upgrade them.

That’s right. They are appropriately referred to as bitchin’ Camaros. Not “cool” Camaros.

Tons of pounds of dirt?

STAR!

I read the Texas Monthly article this morning and I thought it was pretty well written, but I am really happy José wrote this one. I used to read print issues of Texas Monthly for years, but for some reason never got onto their website. After reading through the comments section below their article I don’t think I
