There are fewer cars more worthy of Jalopnik. At this little automobile’s core lies the heart and soul of what creates a motoring enthusiast. It isn’t obvious and it isn’t loud, but it’s there.

In ‘83 I bought a French Blue ‘80 Le car with 33,000 miles on it. Drove it for 5 years. It had a great ride, decent economy, surprising interior space and more flair than a Bennigan’s waitress convention.
It also had a manual choke knob on the left side of the dash and would not start unless it was pulled out.

Someone got a fun, good deal. They’re getting hard to find. I almost bid, but I already have a Le Car.

Yup. Bleeding the beast by receiving benefits from a government you believe has no dominion over you is classic fundy Mormon. They’ve been fucking the government over for as long as they’ve been a religion. They were persecuted and decided to get revenge.

There’s nothing wrong with cruising.

At one point, I knew exactly what a G, M, or Q-ship was meant to entail. Just as with Caddy we know what A, C, S, X mean. Just as with Mercedes A, B, C, E, S hold meaning. Now, I not only don’t know which Infiniti is which, I simply don’t care.

This post needs more postal wagons!

Design a pretty good product.

Because I don’t want to work today, I watched this video on 2x speed so I could make a list of all of the issues with the car so you don’t have to watch the youtube equivalent of War and Peace.

Oh come on! I enjoy reading, videos not so much. That’s why I’m on the Jalopniks and not the youtubes right now.

I’m with you. I grew up with ‘60s round-headlamped cars all around. Round was where it’s at. Vehicle stylists went to great lengths to either disguise or accentuate the round lights - my favorite was the ‘65 Riviera with its stacked round headlights, safely concealed until you needed them.

You all need to quit posting this crap. LC80s were finally getting old enough to come down to a good price. They were a great little secret, awesome trucks, very capable, reliable, and understated. I purchased a 1996 triple locked, totally stock for around $3k a few years ago. With all of these stories, everything

Meh. I just gotta get to the mall for my kombucha colonic.

I see your Land Rover, and I raise am Unimog

Chevy guy?

I remember thinking this was the most amazing family wagon when I was about 10. It had a sunroof and a MOONROOF!!!

My vote goes to the ‘79 - ‘82 Toyota (Hilux) P/U. They were quite capable.

Ranger

Chevy LUV. This was mine. It was a fucking awesome little truck.

Wait, er... I gotta change my pants.
