Bruce Timm just can’t get a break. If the Nu52 garbage over the last 10 years wasn’t bad enough, he finally gets another animated series and now faces cancellation before even airing.

I’m all for method acting if it’s
A) an important role, not just important to you

I’ll give it a chance. I liked the premiere well enough but I have to agree that there aren’t really any stand out characters here. I guess you could say Daemon and Rhaenyra are but my initial reaction is they just feel like stand-ins for Rhaegar and Daenerys. One’s a slimy creep with no with ambitions but no patience

“sloppy writing”

Because it’s slopping writing to have a Sakaari fighter show up on Earth, presumably seeking out Banner, cause Jennifer to swerve off the road and then is never seen or heard from again the rest of the entire episode. THAT is how they should’ve ended the episode. THAT is what would be a proper cliffhanger.

Sure there’s corruption is some charities but I think in this case, it was just a matter of hiring a shady contractor who cut corners to pocket a good chunk of the money.

The comedy starts when?

lol

I wasn’t referring specifically to Bruce but males in general depicted in the show so far. Bruce was mostly presumptive that he had all the answers to Jennifer’s condition but to be fair, he’s the only one up to this point who’s ever had said condition and he had to spend years learning what it is and how to control

A cliffhanger is when a villain shows up, wreaks havoc and we’re left wondering how the hero is going to stop them, not boot the villain into the wall and dust themself off as the cops cuff and take them away. That’s not a cliffhanger.

Obviously the ship was a call back to Ragnarok but you don’t just have a spaceship show up, causing a car crash that gives her her powers and then just cut to later that night not be a major plot point of the episode or have a completely unrelated incident happen at the very end, as Jenna aptly put, “Kool-Aid Man

But TV as TV and movies do, at least the ones that don’t bother taking a humanistic approach, like to dumb them down to 2-Dimensional, black or white. Yeah, everyone’s said something stupid or inappropriate in their life. Noone’s Steve ‘fucking’ Rogers but the snarling, pervy creep and mysogynistic alpha douche is the

I rather preferred Diane Guerro’s ‘Crazy Jane’ in Doom Patrol, myself. She was great in Orange is the New Black and Jane the Virgin.

The scenes with Banner and Walters were fun but the appearance of the Sakaari ship and Titania had absolutely no context. They both just appeared out of nowhere for no other reason to get Jen her powers and have her hulk out in court.

For me it’s not a matter of whether they exist so much as in shows like this and any number of CW shows, they’re the only type of males that exist, unless the character is gay. Granted this was only the first episode but was there any male male character featured here, including Banner to a degree, who wasn’t either

They also have all the DC stuff and whatever you think about the Snyderverse, there’s all the classic Bruce Timm/Paul Dini shows, The Harley Quinn Show which is pretty great and all the STV animated movies.

For me, it’s about paying more for my existing subscription for a bunch of new stuff rolled in from channels I’ve never watched or would ever watch in the first place.

Either he means that it’s $105 a year with no ads or $70 for one year with no ads but then after that introductory offer, it’s $70 a year with ads.

Or he could’ve donated like 15% of the profits to youth organizations and/or cheap housing for the homeless and raising awareness but you do you.

Wicker Man?
