Diablo was my first real experience with online gaming. Good times. Learned all about group tactics, PKing and whatnot.
Jeezus rice mmo-haters, its not about the game mechanics, the graphics, the UI or the repetitive quest system that keeps people playing them! Its about the social aspect of it!
You should check out the Brothers in Arms series. Nothing happy or badass about that series (at least until the horrible reboot comes out later this year).

Its a pretty good game. Much more accessible and stream-lined than the first one. Not as much stealth as I would like; a lot of times your only option to progress is to shoot everybody in your way.
