Thank you! You're right of course. I was thinking of Down in the Delta. (Delta, bayou...bay, sound, inlet...)

I came here, just to say the same thing. If it were Lorde making that statement, NO one would be questioning it. Anyways....

Why is that whenever someone (usually a POC/a woman/or a youth) gets praise for being eloquent there is always a comment in a rush to dismiss their eloquence and attribute to someone else. I never really notice this happening when WMs write something halfway literate.

You have to laugh to keep from crying. I forgot about The Theory of Everything! A heartwarming story of a disabled genius, who also happened to be an elitist douchebag, who fell in love with a lovely young woman, only to eventually leave her for his younger nurse.

Because the Academy is dominated a bunch of self-indulgent, old, white-male filmmakers who are obsessed with appearing as intellectuals and "philosophers" above all else. That's why this year honored a bunch of movies about mildly uncomfortable white people struggling w/ "malaise" and aging. Literally, count 'em —

A hispanic/latino guy won best director/best picture, but I guess that doesn't matter.

Also the demographic group that benefits most heavily from affirmative action is white women.

Right. "I donated to Haiti" shouldn't be the new "some of my best friends are black."

Ugh, the White Feminists are coming out in droves on this shit.

Seriously...the idea that Leo is too good for Rihanna is laughable.

Re: Dev Patel (who is absolutely an attractive person), I'm tired of the whole "she's too god for him" thing. It's no better than the reverse. See also: Amal Clooney, Emma Watson, Rihanna, etc. ad infinitum. All perfectly lovely women, but why does it have to be a contest? If they see something in George, Harry, Leo,

Thank you, this is so well-articulated. It bothers me because it makes it clear that however well-intentioned she is, when she says or hears the word "women," she is thinking of a very specific kind of woman.

like i honestly see their point, but what happened was a real peek of the deeply ingrained view that what america has: a Woman is white, heterosexual and cisgendered. That is the kneejerk, no thought, chiseled in stone idea that society has taught them. it shows that white america, and in this instance, white women,

Lorne left after the original cast did. After one terrible season with a new cast and producer, NBC brought in Dick Ebersol and another new cast, which included Eddie. Everyone assumed the show would be cancelled, until Eddie started killing it week after week. He bridged the gap until Lorne came back a few years

The original players and Lorne all had 4-5 year deals (Chevy Chase had a 1 year deal since he was hired to be head writer). So after 5 years the original cast (plus Bill Murray who had replaced Chevy) moved on, and due to contract disputes Lorne did not renew his contract.

I think Murphy still has a lot of respect for Cosby as a person who paved the way for him.

Exactly why he was right not to do it. The further someone has fallen the easier it becomes to kick them a little harder. Thats class to decide not to. It says nothing about Cosby. It says a lot about Murphy.

What the NHL city you WANT to play in says about you:

There should be a law requiring every guy pestering his girlfriend to have a threesome to have to do a male-male-girl to start with. The gay panic alone would get guys off girls backs forver.

I agree with this. The article says that it's especially important for Black children to be taught pride in their heritage...I actually think it might be more important for White children. Because White children are the ones who grow up thinking that everyone else is "ethnic" and they are just "normal".
