As a reader, it was the details that allowed me to connect to Grace’s story so viscerally. It reminded me of my own stories and friends’ stories that were all too similar (though in some cases much scarier). I’m not sure I would have felt those same emotions had the story been sanitized of detail.

So does mine. I want a real throwback... like Gadzooks or Wet Seal and dELiA*s. Throw in a good ol’ Kaufman’s for my mom too. And super noisy water fountains smack dab in the center.

Yeah, but think about the way averages work. All those babies dying young, car accidents, cancer, etc that kill women off at a young age drag down the average. The fact that RBG has made it this far without any genetic conditions or diseases popping up bodes well that she will live a long and healthy life.
