Oh for fuck’s sake. Shut up, sit down, and LISTEN.

Women spearheading movements are often characterized as the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, wives/girlfriends of male victims of police brutality rather than victims themselves. That’s not to say that those relationships aren’t important and that their voices aren’t important but, again, it’s in the context of

One of the chicks in the Perth Roller Derby is Tora Hymenov. For some reason, it just sticks in my mind...

Like this fucker, took them 6 months to fire him.

I would love to be a roller derby-er, in another life where I'm not afraid of breaking bones.

Renisha McBride? #sayhername

“WOC” is “women of colour.”

Under a post about the erasure of black women’s voices she is playing the yabutwhataboutwhitewoman game? Fuck that noise.

That “black lives matter” so quickly gets mentally translated into “black men matter” is less a product of racism than one of sexism. We live in a society that frequently devalues the rights and existence of women. Issues that affect men are social issues; issues that affect women are “women’s” issues. That black men

I think at this point we can rule crazier’nu a troll and dismiss, n’est-ce pas?

One thing that gets glossed over in this conversation when we erase woman victims and activists is sexual violence perpetrated by the police.

It’s important to me to get other black women to assert how important we are, how much WE, too, need to be protected and/or avenged. So often, I see other sistas talk about how they treat “our men” and how they fear for their sons when we are victimized by the system as well and our daughters could be the next Sandra,

“ Black women come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, etc” Seriously? I’ve been black all my life, my IMMEDIATE family comes in all different shapes, sizes and colors. A real black woman is a woman who is actually black. That’s a really easy concept to understand.

So saying “”I DO NOT CONSIDER MYSELF A BLACK WOMAN” still makes her black? That is laughable.

Her father is Irish and Italian; her mother is half-Scottish/half-Cape Verdean. And Cape Verdean is not synonymous with black. She identifies as Portuguese, Italian and Irish. Rose herself said: “I do not consider myself a black woman. Absolutely not.” So please enlighten me, by what metric is Amber Rose a black woman?

so true. they want you to be innately good at fucking. they don’t want to walk you through it, and they don’t want you to show them how to do anything either because they think THEY are innately good at it. wtf. sex education in the US needs to be actual EDUCATION about SEXIN

[Everyone’s] deciding whether the female nipple is this horrible thing, but men with these titties are running around just letting their nipples fly out. It’s offensive.

This was really interesting and weird. She sounds sadly traumatized, like her defense mechanism whenever she is reminded of something she doesn’t want to talk about or that doesn’t jibe with her personality du jour is to deny that it ever happened. I completely don’t believe that she was somehow not complicit in
