This is where we live. The outskirts. The land of sand and sky. Nothing else. Sand and sky for miles. The occasional farm that needs tending. This is all I have ever known. Mom tells me there was a life before this. A life in the lighted city. I don't remember.

Or, y'know, you could get a media server software like PlayOn and hook it up to a PS3, Xbox or any of the other huge amount of boxes that it works with. Just sayin...

I know it doesn't seem like a big novel, but Metagame was a wonderful example of the future of video games and a great read. If you have an opportunity, you should check it out. I think it did some things better than Ready Player One (which I also loved). No I am not connected to the author. Here is the link: [www.amaz

Superman Returns needed a script doctor. The movie itself is good, but someone should have come along and said "Get rid of the kid, lose Lex Luthor and make the villain Brainiac". This would have been so easy, you could have had Brainiac follow Supes back from Krypton. Have a major climactic battle with a creature

How are you getting the books on your device then? If you plug it into your computer is one more step really THAT grueling to you? In fact if you use Calibre it automatically will push converted books to your ereader.

What is people's issues with formats? Seriously I do not understand this. If the file is non-DRM Calibre can convert a book into ANY format you want except PDFs, which Kindle will read anyways. It's a really simple program and also is a really handy way to organize all your non-DRM ebooks.

I agree. When he switched from Obi-Wan (Alec Guinness) to Obi-Wan (Ewan MacDonald) I think my mind shattered into a million tiny pieces. I was worried he was going to be amateurish, but some of them (Yoda) were absolutely spot on.

Damn, this has screwed me up big time. There's a new Bean novel coming out in January that I was dying to read. Now, I don't want to buy anything from this miserable excuse for a human being. I don't even want to rent it from the library because I'll just be constantly thinking about how repugnant he is. What should I

You must have also noticed that absolutely worst decision Lucas could have made in this blu-ray. I mean, seriously, the GD Ewoks have scary CG pupil eyes now. Is Lucas just a lunatic at this point?

I have a tiny suspicion that Gizmodo could care less as well and they were just excited about Kat being on the BBC.

You need to fix your sarcasm detector

The whole point of a time lock vault is that there is no emergency bypass. Otherwise, what would be the point?

It's actually easy for Amazon to pull out of the iOS ecosystem. As pointed out by Farhad Manjoo on Slate, Amazon simply makes their Kindle app a web application, which they are planning on doing anyways. Completely subvert Apple.

@wætherman: I had this thought to. But consider one very obvious thing: the guy had to know he was using a stolen computer if he wasn't the initial robber. There was someone's files and he couldn't change anything on the computer. Possession of stolen equipment is almost as bad as stealing in the first place.

The sequel to Superman Returns sounds like it could have been really cool and maybe validated the first movie.

Check it...Unicron IS the moon...

@Famf: The Kindle 3 has a sharper screen and better battery life than the e-ink Nook.

@battra92: Fools and their predetermined judgments...

I really like the point he makes at the end about our houses today being more about entertaining others than us living in them. My parent's house has an entire room only used for entertaining that is bigger than his house. He's absolutely right: for the price saved on mortgage, go rent a hall for parties.
