“In the first place God made idiots. This was for practice. Then he made School Boards.”

If you ask me, that’s why locally elected schoolboards should be outlawed across the country. They’ve been dumbing down our schools for decades.

The stupidest thing about this particular instance of censorship is that the teacher is speaking about the artwork and the anatomy in the only proper way. She’s right- comparing O’Keefe’s work to “ladybits” or “peepees” or whatever is diminishing of both the art and of women in general and the girls in the class. It

Wint had only been in trouble with the administration once before—when she had hung a student-made sign behind her desk reading “Marriage is about love, not gender.”

For fuck’s sake. As Rando said, she wasn’t talking about anything to do with reproduction. It’s exactly the same as saying the name of ANY OTHER BODY PART BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT IT IS CALLED. Good for her for refusing to use some stupid euphamism.

I wonder if you’re allowed to ask to go to the bathroom? That does indirectly refer to parts that may or may not be used to sex. What if a girl has her period and need a tampon? Holy hell!

We live in a society where someone can lose their job for saying the proper name of a body part that at least half the population has.

The word vagina isn’t a word that explains “reproduction” or anything like that. It’s a body part. They’ve basically just taught all these young girls that their body parts are unmentionable and bad words/things we don’t talk about.

I am middle-aged, and was not aware that labia sag with age. Granted, it’s not something I ever considered important enough to keep track of.

I’m 36 years old. Until I started having down time at work (4 years ago or so) and reading blogs, I did not know this was a thing. I don’t think this is a coincidence that as porn has become free, and easily accessed that young people’s perceptions are getting warped. I do know that since I have what is considered

Keep in mind that teen girls’ labia haven’t even had a chance to start sagging yet, so relatively speaking, they’re not even going to be very long at all.

Seriously, as a dude, ESPECIALLY when I was a teen dude, there’s no way any kind of way a vagina can look to scare us away. It’s a vagina! And a living breathing woman is willing to let you look at it, and maybe even touch it or put something in it!

Porn certainly made me feel shitty about the way I looked. We didn’t have the money for me to whine about getting procedures to my parents though (while my amazing parents did save up money to get lazer hair removal after years of seeing me come home in tears from being teased by peers).

To be honest, my labia minora are pretty much just ridges, practically nonexistent, and I’m still self-conscious about it. I’ve heard it’s like a coin slot, nothing to it (though the person didn’t make the comment about me, just “boring vaginas” in general). So I guess you can’t win for losing.

I saw a documentary once that found that many women go their whole lives without ever seeing their own lady parts.

Right? As an adult, it’s hard not to get caught up in the “perfect labia” so prevalent in pornography, and I generally like my genitals. Poor teens have little chance to not fall deep into self-loathing.

If this doesn’t show that in fact, large doses of easily accessed pornography is having an impact (a negative impact) on children I don’t know what does. This makes me so, so sad. And I realized, had I constantly seen these images or had my male peers had this much access to these images I would have been one of those

I personally think vagina lips are super awesome! I think we need someone the kids like these days to sing about how they love their lips as is & make it a trend.

Tattoos hardly indicate anything.
