I spent nearly half a year homeless and two of the first things to go are a sense of pride and community. The article above even states that by being in this troop and having this sale that these girls feel less isolated.
The girls asked to do this. How about focusing on giving these girls a chance to be kids. Theyāre becoming a community, theyāre making friendships that may last a lifetime and theyāre Doing something they feel proud about. I agree that there are some issues with the way the transfer of money is structured, but this isā¦
I donāt know. They said that this was something that the girls were actively asking to do. And if you read the quote from one of the girls it seems like a lot of the value of the program comes from being able to do ānormalā things, like have a cookie sale.
Thatās awful :( even in Australia, not Europe, I know if I couldnāt make my rent or something one month due to unforeseen circumstances I would be able to sort something out with my landlord and it would be okay. I hope that you are okay now!
This is so heartwarming. ā„ļø I wish I could give each one of them and their families a permanent home. I was in Girl Scouts for 4 years...some of the best memories of my life. I grew up on welfare and my mom was very young. Iām so thankful that she saw the value in Girl Scouts. She ended being my troops co-leader.
It is shockingly cruel. And up to that point, I had a pretty good job, I just didnāt have enough money saved up to prepare me for a medical crisis. I eventually had to file for bankruptcy because my bills were nearing six figures. I also lost my job for not returning in a timely manner, even though it was doctorā¦

No he's not. He's the most tech-savvy US president in history. Whether he actually has time to personally play any video games is a different matter though, and the Witcher 2 probably reminds him a bit too much about his day job.
He's not anti-gaming, his wife is anti-sit-on-your-ass-all-day, which very reasonably leads her to ask kids to get out more instead of sitting inside playing games all day. I love my games, but it's not an outlandish connection by any means.
I've never been given the impression that Obama is anti-gaming (the opposite actually), I just know he's anti- kids sitting around on their asses for days on end while not doing anything to stay healthy. I know TOO many kid gamers to have this disputed or argued about. Giving a kid the option of going outside andā¦
