Yzerman and co. were mostly gone. It was Zetterberg and Datsyuk’s team, and I think only Kris Draper remained. The team had a different vibe to it, which is why I always separate it from the Yzerman era. Lauren may have done so as well.

It wasn’t a “last second save”. It was a muscle spasm that bent his leg just as it intercepted the path of a sure-thing-empty-netter. While he was on his face.

Nothing in sports since has gripped me like that Yzerman team. Individual moments fill me with awe and emotion, but as a narrative over the course of time, it, to a Wings fan, was a Homeric Epic (and likely “homer”-ic).

Man, I have a gaming PC, but JUST LAST WEEK bought a used PS4 to play Destiny...

Who?

Neutral: (I hate how this issue makes me feel old. I consider myself a proponent of technology and science, and I like being comfortable around technology. But talking about autonomous cars makes me feel like my conservative grandpa.)

Oh, thanks for the nuanced reply. Very helpful and constructive.

God, the more and more I read up on fitness and diet, the more I become convinced there is almost no chance of doing this correctly on my own, that I need at the very least a personal dietitian to plan or advice on my meals.

Someone just got a copy of MS Paint.

Neither is this.

I typically shower at night, but more out of necessity and then habit than any philosophy.

For ease in transporting them across the galaxy, the Rebellion, when they have more time and resources

That’s gonna stay with the blue shirt for a while. Gonna feel the urge to drink heavily. Should go with that urge. Don’t be a hero, manage the pain.

I have a tendency to get militant with my opinions on boardgames. At a friend’s birthday party, one of the attendees criticized our obsession with games like 7 Wonders. I asked what games he liked and he mentioned Connect 4, which I savaged.

I also hate when people use this mantra as an excuse to be rude. Several coworkers claim “they don’t have time” for manners or to be polite when they snap orders at you. Takes a second to say “please” and “thanks”.

When I have the money to start making payments. And it will be a lightly-used car, maybe a year or two old. Because that is the financially responsible thing.

I am very skeptical about autonomous cars. Just from a system security angle, you want me to trust a computer to drive me and my family around town? With all of the reports of hacking and malware on systems that are professed to be using “cutting-edge” and “industry standard” security procedures?

Stuck on a year-long voyage in deep space in a ship that is essentially on auto-pilot, and my only purpose appears to be a living representative of our culture, yeah, I’d want at least the projection of a few friends on board.
