I wonder if dealerships can circumvent the rules by selling “slightly” used non-EV cars beyond 2035. Have an out-of-state company purchase and register a new car out of state. Drive it a few miles. Sell it to the dealership which then turns and sells as a “used” car. 

EVs are some of the heaviest vehicles in their overall size category. Since CA eventually will only allow EVs to be sold in the state, the revenue generated from the gas tax will go down considerably. Therefore the state needs to make up the difference. 

Also, neither car or bike seem to stop at the stop sign. 

Come this time next year, people will start to really understand how non-refundable tax credits work when they are not getting a $7,500 check in the mail. Then the government will need to create another incentive to drive demand.

All EVs are very heavy compared to their ICE counterparts. Is is weight or size the issue? Big doesn’t necessarily mean heavy and small doesn’t mean light.
