I am sure they will come back as new EV models but not just 2 door versions of the sedans. They will be on their own design platform and not follow the ICE sedan chassis.

I understand why one wants to get a car from the the ‘80s. What I don’t understand is why get a car from the ‘80s to daily drive in the Northeast no less. Then why not just put the sensor attached to a clutch pedal so it’s like actually a manual but no direct action with a clutch. It would help people from texting on their phones as you would need two hands.

But this is soooo much better than piano black or a screen where it’s nothing but fingerprints after 5 minutes.

Just call it the keep-your-hands-on-the-wheel-eyes-open-pay-attention-at-all-times-do-not-need-to-actually-steer-or-brake-unless-necessary-only-available-on-highways-with-low-to-moderate-traffic-moving-at-consistant-speed-mode. See? Simple.
