Bingo. This is why Hollywood movies have become so unbearable

Jesus Christ, that's laughable
That would've involved too much thinking for the pleibs!
TFA is typical Abrams-unoriginal, boring, and lacking any subtlety or depth. Dumbest goddamn villain I've seen in a long time, too. I think people are just blinded by nostalgia. They can have this goddamn farce of a franchise
Some people have astonishingly low standards
Episode VII and Rogue are every bit as amateurish and embarrassing as episodes I-III
Like every post-1983 Star Wars film, it'll suck. Still, I love Johnson and seeing a preview of Brick with him at the American Cinematheque is a fond memory of mine
Your comment is absolutely worthless
There were over 70 at the start of the double bill, which was for The African Queen. Probably around 45 or 50 for Heaven Knows. It's an amazing theatre, and one of the only places in North America that can project nitrate.
Caught a resplendent 35mm cinemascope print of John Huston's HEAVEN KNOWS, MR. ALLISON, starring Deborah Kerr and Robert Mitchum, at the UCLA Film & Television Archive.
I listened to all 3 as audiobooks and feel like I missed huge chunks of the narrative
it's a very interesting commentary on British (Galapagos as stand-in for the Falklands) and American imperialism.
only someone like Vonnegut could make an 18 wheeler accident causing a neutron bomb to detonate hilarious (see DEADEYE DICK).
I've never been completely taken with SIRENS. For my money, GALAPAGOS was the man's apex; an incredibly funny and bleak portrait of humanity as a time bomb waiting to implode.
Audiobooks:
1. The Little Friend (Sara Waters)
2. Under the Big Black Sun (John Doe)
3. The Book of Joan (Lidia Yuknavitch)
I really wish Walter Hill's original cut was available. It did have a lot of potential, but the entire time limit conceit was cut out! It seems like they're solving the crime for the hell of it.
for added grime, watch Death Wish IV with another Bronson/Thompson collaboration, KINJITE: FORBIDDEN SUBJECTS. "An Oriental just touched my holiest of holies!"
He was very ubiquitous around '92-94, with roles in well-received films like The Waterdance, Bodies Rest & Motion, and Sleep with Me. I still love his presence in films, but he's transitioned to a very prolific directing career
Tarantino and Avery fed off of each other. The latter had a huge influence on True Romance and Natural Born Killers.
No, it's still really fun. Very creative and super low budget. Wish there was a Blu Ray with a commentary
