One of my all time favourite movies ever. Just so sweet and goofy.

I’ve always loved that, at the peak of his career, he decided, “I can do anything I want so I’m going to pursue my other career as a bluegrass musician” and is now one of the top half-dozen banjoists in the world. Kind of like Jim Carrey becoming a genuinely good visual artist.

Superman generally bores me, but I’d watch the hell out of  a movie done in a retro-futurist, Fleischer Animation style, set in the late 1930s, when Superman battled the real villains: evil greedy businessmen who exploited and endangered their workers for profit.

It’s not that hard to tell a good Superman story. He’s a good guy who stands up to bullies. That’s the gratification the audience gets. The stakes come from the way sometimes the bad guys’ schemes are so villainous that Superman may not be able to overcome them. The dramatic growth comes from the fact that Superman…

Given how this guys thinks I am 100% that what comes out of this is a bunch of DC movies that feel like Marvel clones. One liners and quips all day.

How can we NOT think that as The Flash continues to be allowed to move forward despite the absolute insanity surrounding Ezra Miller?? Like, it’s not even subtle, so I AM saying it. This is some racist and sexist bullshit.

Fittingly, this guy looks almost exactly like a certain character on Evil.

Listen, I’m not saying Zaslav is racist or sexist, but canceling Batgirl (with Bab’s being played by a WOC), Static Shock, Supergirl, and Ta-Nehisi Coates’ black Superman movie DOES make me cock an eyebrow.

I’m so happy this appears to be good. I love the history of women’s baseball & the movie was kinda like the tall tale version of that, so I am glad the show appears to be keeping that going.

A couple things I’m hopeful for in season 2:

* There’s a spin-off manga made at the height of the early “Japanimation” boom called Death At Death’s Door that shows the other side of what happens in the “Season of Mists” storyline. It’s very funny, and shows how surprisingly sympathetic Despair can be.
