I don’t have much faith at this point, but I hope that when Miranda comes clean Steve really lets her have it, and we see her realize and acknowledge how she hurt him.

The structure sounds a little similar to Cloud Atlas, except the character connections are left unclear and the stories don’t get their second half. So read Cloud Atlas instead! It’s excellent.

Some people feel the cold more than others. I keep it at 66 during the day, and I wear long-underwear and wool sweaters (sometimes even a hat!) and wrap a quilt around me, and I’m still cold.

Yeah, I can’t actually fault Charlotte here despite that line. It’d be one thing if Miranda were single and experimenting, but she’s cheating on her husband and seems to not be considering him even a little bit. I hope the writers don’t just brush this off, with Steve just shrugging his shoulders and retreating from

What the others are saying is true; it sounds ridiculous and even offensive to say “focus on the positive!” but it can actually make a difference when done right. My life is pretty awful right now, with intractable problem after intractable problem weighing me down. Cutting way down on news consumption and certain

Those types of movies are not only offensive, they’re bad theology. Prosperity Gospel nonsense is ruining Christianity.

I recognized her immediately, then second-guessed myself. I’m excited to see this!

Oh my God.  I have no will power when it comes to regular rice krispie treats, I’m not sure I can handle this.

This is genius but also a ridiculous amount of popcorn.

No scurvy on my watch!

It’s super effective! My husband loves it when I bring up past stuff.

Even with the shit-show of the last 5 years, there is no other time I’d rather be alive.

I’m so glad she’s getting the help she needs and you are supportive of that. My older kids have mental health issues, too, and I’m really determined to be pragmatic and matter-of-fact about it, to make it clear to them it’s utterly normal and a good thing to get help.

You and a couple of others are doing the Lord’s work with these slideshow “articles.”

Seriously. Give me a candy bar as a present; I’d prefer that to crypto currency or a lottery ticket.

One of the reasons I’m so thankful (har) my husband uses the barbecue to cook the turkey. Even if it snows.

Earlier in the month I finished Barbara Hambly’s Those who Hunt the Night (billed as a vampire book for those who hate Twilight) and enjoyed it quite a bit. I especially appreciated that while the vampires come on strong with their super speed and super strength, the story makes clear just how fragile they are in

This is how my husband does it, and it produces a fabulous turkey. And it frees up the oven!
