For $100 you could have a Mac Mini with a warranty and not have to go through all this headache. And one thing stories like this don't mention is that if you update OS X, it almost always results in a kernel panic. One time I updated iTunes and got a kernel panic because the installer updated a driver.

There are already warning labels on the games. Parents, do your job!
