Why do you think any praise of the bench has to come at the expense of the starters. Do you only have the capacity to enjoy five guys on the team?

He didn’t say they won exclusively with backups. Just that one thing that separates them from other teams is the significant contributions they can get from even deep down their bench.

I know it’s against the rules. And of course he knew it was against the rules. I was just saying, given the circumstances, I don't fault him for breaking those rules.

That same sentiment can be directed towards Ole Miss, who have somehow gotten significantly better over the last few years. And I don’t blame the guy one bit for leveraging whatever position of power he had to help his mom and not get evicted.

This isn’t a player accused of sexual assault or something. Someone is using relatively benign transgressions (in my opinion) to try and ruin this kid. Trying to keep his mother’s lights on doesn't seem so terrible.
