From other reports it sounds like her friends did come out.  Someone swam out to the car, someone else took a kayak.  Still, they didn’t call 911 until 11:55.  A lot of time wasted before calling.

It’s like they never had even a dime store lawyer review at the outset.

I would definitely consider it malpractice from the lawyers if they didn’t suggest it, but I’m hoping they must have and the clients rejected it.  I have to assume that’s what happened on behalf of my profession. lol

Man, I can’t believe how long it’s been since JT Walsh died. He died in 1998. He died before Phil Hartman died.

I’m not saying it wasn’t stupid.  lol  I’m just saying this is probably why.

It does make me wonder how these relationships and marriages between the ultra-rich work. I imagine many of these people are ‘normal’ at some level and find it awkward and avoid making plans that protect their individual interests because they have to acknowledge that their relationship won’t necessarily last

Jeez, that’s a lot of stomp for a turbo 6.

Is this amount lost on the incremental cost of producing an individual car or is this just if you include all of the sunk costs of R&D and investing in production facilities? Because it’s significant if it’s the former, but incredibly misleading if it’s the latter.

With it only being an inch longer, I doubt it. I’ve had the QX80 & Armada as rentals and that cramped interior relative to tank exterior really keeps it a notch below the Tahoe/Yukon. If you’re not towing, just about any full size 3-row SUV is a better choice for cheaper too.

Looks nice in profile, but hoo boy that face!

I got my 2018 Audi A6 with 16k miles on it in the middle of 2021 for WAY less than she paid for this Camry. Not saying she needs a German money pit, but she definitely didn’t need a $46k Camry.

“How about asking why are cars worth more than a year’s salary on a teacher’s income?

Unfortunately, this downward spiral came with a bunch of self-destructive coping mechanisms, including hundreds of dollars of in-app purchases, lots of fast food, vaping, and over-drafting her bank account.”

Why do half of all YouTube thumbnails look like they are catching someone mid-shart?

I still do my own taxes (no tax software) to this day.”

It’s a warning to others. Don’t be this stupid because there isn’t a quick fix.

The solution is to sell the car and get out of debt with a cheap used car she can actually afford. The solution is to not buy a new car, because she can’t afford it. As I wrote in the article.

Came here to say this. With a third of her income spent on a car, her other likely large expense is housing. She’s living with her parents for free? Well that expense is gone. After housing and car payment everything else is minor, mostly discretionary and adjustable.  Delete Uber Eats and learn to cook.

Nor do they teach how to avoid all of the predatory car dealerships that spring up around military bases like strip clubs.

Even if they do - they don’t teach impulse control.
