See, here I am back to learning shit on the AV Club. I thought maybe this dude just got a laugh out of pulling off a particularly gory effect.

More specifically, it’s the immediate market for reselling. You can buy 10 seats then dump eight back into the market at 10x the face value. Trying to buy Swift tickets once they canceled the first effort and “fixed” the issue, those little blue seat dots would appear and disappear so fast you couldn’t get them into…
Ed Sheerin seems lovely but his level of fame continues to baffle me.
I was at a conference a few years back where the opening night reception was on the Superdome field. I’ve been on the field at Jerry World as well, and it doesn’t compare to the feeling of being in the center of the Superdome. The roof’s so far away it’s almost disorienting.
Think you’re right, actually. Cashed in on that self-imposed scarcity value. Henley and Frey didn’t kill each other, and everyone made a lot of money.
Parallel to wind direction. Right orientation is probably head towards the engine and feet as flat as you could get them (think jumping into the water from a high vantage versus diving), but I’m not sure’ I’d have the stones to deliberately put my head closer to a running jet engine.
Heck yeah. Don’t like the current competitive situation? Rule change!
Usually came on after cartoons ended, and it was this or Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. I usually went with WWoS.
I’m thinking pencil. Cut down on opportunities for wind resistance.
I don’t think you’ll find a lack of sympathy for the result, just questioning of how it could happen. But clearly it does; these are not all suicides.
Half that 133 mph is enough to knock a person down (in this case pulling them towards the engine) and as you say it would intensify the closer they got to the intake. If they’re wearing a windbreaker or something similar it would become a reverse parachute.
Ah yes, that notorious Dutch late-stage capitalism and deregulation strike again.
Love that:
I haven’t seen Furiosa yet, but it appears to focus on a tighter group of characters. FR had arcs for pretty much everyone involved outside of Immortan and Rictus. The wives getting their first taste of freedom, Furiosa getting back to a place she’s been longing for her entire adult life (and the resulting crushing…
Plus the little girl is the only one we see clearly, but you hear plenty of voices of people who Max attempted unsuccessfully to save. We get why he’s gone lone - same reason he did after his wife and child were killed. Not having anyone depend on you avoids that guilt, but he seemingly can’t help himself as we see…
Do Pitt and Clooney actually share any screen time in BAR?
I love those bizarro-world “2021 Champs!” t-shirt photos.
Honestly surprised to hear that. Their bombastic music is ideal for the setting. Maybe festivals are more their scene.
I assume that’s why they use such a low percentage of market value as the threshold. Plus then they can repair and resell it on a salvage title (or ship it out of the country) and recoup a meaningful portion of the claim amount.
I bought a car with a salvage title after it was returned to a California dealer as a lemon because the buyer claimed an error light came on three different times. The dealer was never able to replicate it, but by law they had to take it back. It was a loaner for about 14k miles with no subsequent issues, passed…
