Strong finish.

See I would do that, though.

I didn’t see her so much as insufferable, but as someone who has the luxury of being sunny and positive towards others because she never had anything about her life challenged, from her home life through college.

Considering Last Jedi is my favorite outside of the originals, I don’t think my view is especially narrow. I felt TPM misfired on each and every level, and I’m decidedly not some Star Wars die-hard. Too geared towards children (not young audiences, actual children), had terrible digital effects, dialogue that somehow

There are some people who just can’t help themselves. Granted full-on Senatorial bribe-taking is on another whole level, but I know plenty of people who are their own worst enemies. Probably helps that Menendez had gotten away with it for so long.  Stewart’s right that this really is like a cartoon.

Wasn’t Star Trek TMP pretty well-received, though? Yeah you had the “get a life, people! Have you ever kissed a girl??” crowd who probably nitpicked it to death but plenty of the TV series had been straight-up silly. The movie was a fun revisit with the same characters who’d been on TV and basically felt like a long

“...revived, saved, remodeled, and/or killed Star Wars...”

Lucas fumbled the ball out the back of the damn end zone.

Hopefully he knows better than to try to use this as a negotiating tactic with any unstable partners he may currently have. “I got punched in the fucking face!!”

Who are these animals who are seeking out guys like Moranis and Buscemi for punching? I guess size could be a factor.

I also didn’t realize his bribes were from a guy trying to corner the New York Halal meat industry.  Just the chef’s kiss on the whole thing.

My HOA can be a bit of a pain in the ass, but it also prevents people letting their properties go to complete hell in a way that not just affects property values, but actively pisses off the rest of the neighborhood. There is a house in my neighborhood right where you enter that is occupied by lord knows who at the

I still have that “final” VHS set before Lucas stared fucking with everything.  There’s a teaser at the front about seeing the movies in their original form “one last time.” Which seemed like marketing hyperbole at the time, as opposed to a legitimate threat.

I think proximity is the only answer to your first question. Lucas WAS friendly with a lot of those guys. But I doubt many people have any remaining illusions about his relative talent.

Yeah they were basically the People’s Choice Awards for the youths. It made a big difference when the only way to see a video was sitting there watching MTV, so it was part of a shared cultural experience. It was also fun to see musicians, actors and the occasional athlete interact in a way that seemed like a look

Certain people, like the guy here on the right?

Big difference is everyone knows embezzlement is illegal, and you can bet your company would do something about it if they found out. Meanwhile he’s done something seemingly innocuous like parking a boat next to his house for years and no one said a word.

Pipe down, Russ.

I don’t think so. Maybe Rice recognized that thread was a dead end. They find plenty of other vampires down the road so continuing to search across Eastern Europe was kind of pointless, especially since all they’d found there were essentially feral (IIRC - been ages since I read any of these).

Hang on, let me send Laettner over to campus first.
