Exactly. He was just a struggling real estate developer, and look what happened.

Chronicles felt completely out of left field after the sparse survival story of Pitch Black. There was a LOT going on.

Never mind.

Hard to believe they don’t make actors brush their teeth between smoking and filming a love scene.  I doubt del Toro smells great either.

Something I didn’t know until earlier today!

With Kinja’s lack of nested comments I can barely tell who I previously responded to.  My point was it didn’t really matter what he thought he might come across (although a squad car was probably down the list) - he wouldn’t have been able to avoid it.  Anyway, consensus seems that this is an excellent FAFO situation

It’s like watching a movie with subtitles.  Distracting at first, then part of the experience.

Sorry, I thought he made it clear superpowers are for people with hair only.

Couldn’t agree more.  He is NOT going to be a good commentator and I question the intelligence (or even sensory capability) of people who not only thought otherwise, but offered him nearly $400 million to do it.  Talk about a black hole of charisma.

I think as big an issue with Kaepernick was that the league had largely figured him out, and made putting up with the media and public circus that much less appealing. He was not accurate downfield so teams focused on defending the run and shorter-yardage passes, daring him to throw deep - which he couldn’t do

I didn’t think Bullet Train was bad, just overly stylized (and yes I realize that’s what it was going for). It went for that “underground world with its own set of rules” thing and mostly connected.  I was entertained.

That’s a hell of a waste considering it was a classic example of the theme song written specifically for the show.

Fair.  Again, my take is 1. make a good movie and 2. everything else will fall into place.

Bet they didn’t have this, though...

Bollards close together would at least block an ATV from getting in there in the first place. Motorcycles are obviously a different animal.

I guess that part of the video didn’t play into the writer’s narrative, because that’s pretty cut and dried.

Nah, once he was in that slide he had the brake levers in a death grip.  Shockingly, turns out he was driving too fast for conditions.

He clearly couldn’t have even if he wanted to.  That police car (with lights on, according to the report) is a lot easier to spot that a few people walking along a shaded road.

If he’s so out of control he can’t avoid a whole-ass cop car then any pedestrian was at clear and massive risk. So it really doesn’t matter what he was looking for. Dude was in the wrong in every conceivable way.

Yeah given how little control ATV guy had, it’s not unreasonable to think he could very easily have killed the pedestrians.
