I always feel like bending rules to get an outcome you want is a bad idea because the opposite can be done to confound justice. The dissenting judge here doesn’t like that the conviction was overturned but doesn’t offer a legal reason other than it continues a “disturbing trend of overturning juries’ guilty verdicts…

That’s my take as well.  I’m no lawyer but have always been under the impression you can’t raise other unproven accusations to make the defendant look worse.  You try what you’re there to try.  I hope they DO retry him though because fuck this guy.

Harsh but fair. My take on the situation is Cohen strikes me as someone who will go absolutely anywhere if he thinks the result will be funny, and probably doesn’t put much care into whether people will be insulted by his suggestions. So even if everything she says is true, it strikes me more as Cohen being oblivious…
