A star for Pikesville.

It was on a road trip several hours away from home. We had just stopped for breakfast in South Dakota when my brother throws me the keys to my Dad’s ‘88 Taurus so he and his buddy can rest up in the back of the conversion van my dad was driving.

Or, the gubment can just get out of the way. Drop the tarrifs, 25 yr. import ban, put a gag in the current president’s mouth and take away his twitter access all while letting people make up their own minds. (gosh, i wonder what we could call that...)

Ew:

One sided market research often comes up one sided...

That they do. I’d like to see more companies embrace the Wagon niche.

The XV and Outback have 8.7" or ground clearance. The Sportwagen 5.5" or the Alltrack @ 6.65". And honestly, ground clearance (or marketing) doesn’t majically turn something into a SUV or crossover. They are tall wagons at best, tall hatchbacks at worst. Case in point: Adding a 3" lift to a 3 series (wagon) BMW

or a $45,000 Opel that GM brought over as a Buick.

No one is suggesting that.

Does the VW Sportwagen not count? Or the Jetta wagon before that? Subaru Outback? Impreza Hatch /XV thinggy? Cause these are what it would be competing with in the U.S., and as I begin the search for a new car it is a much underserved category.

Well.... I’ll be. So it does. (though it doesn’t have the glorious chestnut leather interior, but that’s just a ‘nice to have’ not a ‘need to have’.)

I have been seriously considering one of these. How is it on the highway? or stop and go traffic? All I really need is the S (cheapest that comes with heated seats!) and since the Sportwagon only has them available in the higher trims - Alltrack it is. (Does your green example have the Brown interior too?)

I’m gonna have to disagree with you on that. A brand new engine co-developed with a race team and is only going to be used in 75 cars with a large R&D cost alone is cause for a high dollar value. Include all the custom carbon fiber body panels, seats, interior panels, wheels, hell even the gas cap surround is redone,

This, right here, is awesome. Thank you for putting this together even though I have no practical use for it in any way, shape or form.

It will be okay... if you tell yourself this enough you may actually start to believe it.

My S-I-L drove an automatic 4cyl through HS & college and often had that miserable POS pegged at 90 or so MPH on her way to visit us (3 hrs away). Though, to be honest, we could really never tell since the Speedo rarely worked...

Honest question: Are they going to build a smaller version of the Excursion based on this?

This should make it easier to visualize lowering, chopping, channeling and turning it into a long roof with RWD that Ferd should still be making. Thanks!

That is only if you have the equivalent weight of a Beetle in gold. Now if each individual component were fabricated from gold I’m sure it would weigh significantly more and would likely approach the target dollar amount as well.
