Isn’t this what happened to that Tesla a year ago? I mean the one that peeled its roof off underneath the trailer, then kept truckin’ right down the highway for a few more miles, with an ostensibly-headless driver still at the controls?

So, so wrong. If any tacks in NASCAR still produce “exciting” racing, they’re the short tracks, where cars never get anywhere near 180 mph and wrecks aren’t spectacular.

It’s not unheardof for a plane to fly away from an airport without a pilot. The lone pilot gets out to manually start the prop, yells “contact!,” the throttle gets stuck in open, the engine revs up, and as long a the ramp is wide enough the little plane will get airporne, sans pilot.

The 747, A380, and 777-300 are each about a bajillion times larger and heavier than the little Convair 880. That’s why they produce more thrust.
