I 100% agree there. If you’re buying a house, you should factor in at least a couple hundred dollars a month for maintenance and upkeep, and regularly throw it in a savings account for when you need it.

I’m dying to see this woman’s home decor collection.
I don’t think the show hard-lined on portraying her as an “attention-seeking narcissist,” but I think the show tries to argue that Diana wanted to be a princess and enjoyed being in the spotlight, and that those two features of her personality made her 1. not the most pleasant person at times and 2. that she wasn’t a…
As someone who has updated my kitchen, leveled my house, made a number of electrical repairs, hired a lawn guy and signed a gutter cleaning contract, all within the last year, and is now getting quotes to restore my windows, I’ve decided that to enjoy being a homeowner (at least of an older house) you just have to be…
I think it’s also about scaring women into not getting abortions under the threat of 15 years of jailtime. Not sure why they didn’t just go the full 18 for symbolism’s sake.
There is that whole plotline in The Queen where he’s so afraid of an assassination attempt because of how hated he is that they imply that his actions are motivated in part by shifting the blame/hate to his own mother so that if there is an assassination attempt it’s at her instead of him.
Yeah, I remember when DDHQ called it. Buzzfeed also called it at the same time. It was right after Biden pulled ahead in Pennsylvania, which had already been a given for at least 12 hours. At that point literally everyone (except a certain party in deep denial) knew Biden had won, but the AP wanted to wait until it…
As a Louisianan who’s lived in the U.K., I prefer summers in New Orleans to summers in southern England.
As a Louisianan who’s spent a couple of years in the UK, I vastly prefer an air-conditioned summer in a New Orleans home designed for heat over a British summer in a house with stone walls that are a foot thick, and with only a table-top fans and nights that are barely 5 hours long to help cool me off. Even 25 c. in…
Aww. Rescues are the best.
Also, I say the fascist thing with total love for my little wannabe supreme overlord.
Wow. That is a disturbing level of petty meanness. I bet she and Trump would get along.
Honestly, Trump’s inability to emphasize with other humans makes it make sense that he doesn’t like small animals and views pets as “dirty” and “low class.”
Fair point that that term sucks, it’s getting a lot more common to step away from it and instead refer to animals in terms of “family members,” “fur babies” and—for those with particularly standoffish cats—“roommates.” And people “adopt” animals far more often than they “buy” one—term wise. With my cat and dog, I…
I feel like any actor with a decent agent wouldn’t touch this franchise with a 10 foot pole.
Except for the twist ending, I thought the first one was a highly enjoyable film! The central four cast members were endearing, the creatures were a joy, the setting was neat, Collin Farrell was a great villain.
Valid phobias are valid.
It’s such a human thing to love and dote on small furry creatures, that when someone doesn’t react that way, it’s like a red flag pops up over them. It definitely brings my thoughts straight to antisocial personality disorders (not that I’m correct in thinking that way, but it is my first reaction).
A minority of people can be pretty loud if they want to be. I’m just saying that the consensus of people I know who could be considered “super fans” did not approve of the casting. Maybe it’s passionate, young fans vs. older, more mature ones?
