At this point I say closing it is probably the cheapest and easiest solution. There are passages to the left and right of this (the ones the large trucks are supposed to be using), and it can remain open for bikes and pedestrians of course.

Not to mention resting your hand on the shifter isn’t exactly good for the shifter.

How is this a story? Doesn’t the Cayenne already weigh around 5,000 lbs? Maybe if this was a light weight sports car I’d say “wow, that’s a lot to add” when in actuality all they did was add the equivalent of a 12 year old child to an already portly car.
