I have no attachment to Mika or El Fuerte but YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT DAN! *RABBLE RABBLE GRUMBLE GRUMBLE*

Not so much “let the hate come”, but imagine if you’d invested the few minutes you spent writing that irrationaly angry post on something useful.

I’m pretty stoned, and that was awesome. Thank you for taking the time to write it. Excellent work.

Can I save replies cus this was pretty awesome.

I think that the “Boss” naming convention is one of my favorite things about the series. In a world with gigantic robot tanks that fire nukes from a rail gun, telekinetic villains, cyborg ninjas , genetically modified soldiers and even a Russian madman able to fire bolts of lightning from his fists ... One soldier

I understand about 80% of the story, and that’s all I need. Metal Gear is like a sci-fi military “Scrubs”. Surreal, silly, and dead serious sometimes all at the same time and I love every minute of it... Ok, not EVERY minute, but I love it. It may be hard to get into late, though.

Bravo for spending four paragraphs to say “I don’t play Metal Gear and I don’t care.” Move on? You’re the worst kind of internet commenter, wasting space to explain why you don’t care about the topic at hand. If there were internet war-crime awards, I’d give you one.

The Nuke thing makes a lot more sense when you realize the series was spawned during the cold war.

i read it, enjoyed it, and wondered how long it took to write it. good job!

I spent years making fun of the Metal Gear series for being a bizzare, unintelligible, convuluted series that gets more praise than it deserves.

This sounds so convoluted and idiotic. I didn’t understand a thing. [...] Even simplified and put in chronological order I cannot follow the story line.

well, i’m not a huge mgs fan, but i think it helps to understand that the series is coming from a japanese guy who is a huge fan of american action movies. I think a part of the charm of the series is the way its passed through the filters of different culture and context. American action movies are nuts enough as it

Seriously speaking, you could “summarize” just about any long-running series in this kind of “humoristic” manner, and they’d probably sound stupid as hell. Note I quoted “humoristic”, as I found the whole video just damn forced and annoying.

The problem with the story is it’s been shuffled back and forth between time gaps and extended exposition so much that you need both content and context to understand why events are happening and how they pertain to the story.
Seriously, there’s no way a condensed version of these would do justice to explain what the
