She looks so, so miserable, and has for quite a while.

Yes. I understand that, whether she was capable of being an appropriate parent to them or not, she didn’t get to, and she’s grieving a huge loss. But it’s not their job to worry about her, to take care of her. Which is absolutely what she’s demanding, and punishing them in numerous ways when they don’t deliver.
Thank you for this.
I’m having a hard time mustering up much sympathy, but it’s important that she’s speaking out. Many pro-life women have secret abortions and never change their stance, or else they use their own regrets as a weapon against women who aren’t them.
I would assume that, with however many of her children and grandchildren were able to make it, plus staff, very close friends, whoever else, there would be quite a lot of people wanting to say goodbye to this 96-year-old woman. Maybe they just wanted to keep the number low, and Meghan and Kate stayed away for the…
I remember many, many years ago (in the newspaper, in the classifieds), seeing an ad from a man who was dying of cancer and looking for someone to take his dogs. I felt so sad for him - imagine having to look for a stranger to take care of your pets after your untimely death.
I also feel like she benefits quite a lot from the patriarchy. More than virtually 100% of other women.
Excellent point.
Look, I’m not into any of my first cousins, or any second cousins that I’ve met. I couldn’t even date a childhood friend. But I’m pretty sure what he’s saying is true. There is so much else to criticize about him.
Yes, this is what it is for me. I don’t think it’s necessarily a huge power imbalance, or that he’s exploiting these women. I just think he’s very, very old (only a couple of years older than myself, so I feel I can say that), and looks every one of his 47 years, and has a much higher standard for himself than others.…
I skimmed the article. It looks like he has a very low-paying job and lives with his parents. I don’t think he or his family are rich; I think they’re just white.
Are her eyes red on purpose, to give the “I’ve just been strangled” look an air of authenticity?
Yes, it always bothers me when people mention Montessori and have no idea she was a brilliant educator who cared a lot about equity. There’s a reason why keeping the kids fed is such a big part of the philosophy. My kids went to a public, k-8 Montessori. It encourages kids to do things because they can and they want…
Yes, and he basically said as much. I think he makes a solid argument about stealing from her, but it must have been so terrifying for her.
I think they might be alluding to his curious friendship with Kim Jong Un.

How could you possibly know they were gleeful, or even that they participated? I tend to like Jennifer Aniston a little better than either of them, but I don’t actually know anything that’s happened.
I have no idea how any member of the general public thinks they have enough knowledge to draw any kind of conclusion, but those comments push me towards wanting to take a side (Angelina’s) just so I can get as far away from Team Brad as possible.
I wonder if it means he’s not an easily socializer, which would make that comment much more hurtful than if he was just choosing a style.
The phrase either originated or appeared in the movie Girls Just Want to Have Fun, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Hunt. A boy who was constantly harassing girls did it as he was crossing the line to assault.
