Yes, I have a lot of sympathy for Alec Baldwin the actor. I’m fairly sure he isn’t directly responsible for the shooting. But as a producer, he has a lot of responsibility here.

I think he had good reasons for leaving, but now that you mention it, the only difference seems to be that he no longer has to associate with commoners at all. 

That part stuck with me so much more than the ball! It was clear there was a lot of tension between Dottie and Kit at the end. I think either way, playing created a lot of friction between them that was probably aggravated by all kinds of things over the years. Either way, I was more interested in their obvious rift.
