I never noticed how much the girl who plays her daughter in Atypical looks like her until now.

I saw this movie once, when it came out. I was 15 years old. I remember it vividly to this day. What struck me even then was that Hedy spoke like a feminist, and Allie’s rapist boss saved her from some sort of violent confrontation with Hedy. So....a rapist saves a woman from a feminist. It was mind blowing.

Aside from her own statements, what corroborating evidence would there be that she later regretted it? 

A child nearly lost her parents because her parents didn’t do their due diligence. If I’m photographing nude models, an underage girl sneaking in is obviously an occupational hazard. Probably more of a will happen than a could happen.

The people who knew her latching on to her hyper-sexuality as proof of her maturity is laughable. “She had no boundaries and she was so sexually inappropriate it made other people in the porn industry blush. So I figured she must be an adult!” It’s absurd.

Her stepfather drove her to her first meeting with her agent. Partly because it was his idea, and partly because she wasn’t old enough to drive. Being pimped out by a stepfather who was abusing her all by itself is enough to tell me she is right to take very little to no responsibility.

It’s exceedingly appropriate casting, just not interesting.

At 5', there are just as many challenges as far as the world not being built for me go. Cars, bikes, even top loading washing machines. But I have often considered that it’s simply more physically comfortable. 

Right there with you, in every way. I have no opinions on the casting, but this is pretty silly. 

I was wondering the same thing. Why on earth would they give up their seats for Pippa Middleton? It would be presumptuous even to be asked. 

They compensate with hats.

I think it’s similar to Roald Dahl, Maurice Sendak, or even Grimm’s Fairy Tales. V. C. Andrews’s books weren’t written for children, but they appealed to children precisely because they are over-the-top brutal. Kids love extremes. Authors who take it easy (or easier) on their characters may write appealing books, but…

I don’t think this is fake, since absolutely nothing happened except she had time for her imagination to run wild while she waited. 

I think she said something about how he “consistently chose other people over” them, which is a pretty standard symptom of radical attachment disorder. Abandonment is not the recommended response.
