I had the same thought on when the series might be set. In order to make Fraction’s Hawkeye work even a little, you’d need a Clint who doesn’t have a family grounding him — a messy, lost guy who is doing what he can to survive while building a new family out of the people and the dog he finds along the way.

I was about to say so myself. Man, I hope this gets adapted to a film someday. It's so emotionally powerful.
