So you’re that bean counter the engineers always blame when someone dies because something was under-engineered?

Also in Seattle. I saw my first Maverick last Friday. It was owned by a contractor doing a remodel at my apartment complex.

What’s rich is when they charge you a cleaning fee and then remodel the entire apartment after you leave.

Sadly, it is very real and very ridiculous.

Hey now, Amazon renamed and refurbished Key Arena.

The Ioniq and EV6 can charge at max speed on the 350kW chargers that Electrify America have rolled out to most Walmart locations, so they aren’t that hard to find on a road trip. In the city is not as easy, but here in Seattle there’s quite a few 150 kW chargers that have been popping up around the metro (the EV6

The latest study I have seen says it is closer to 20k miles for the breakeven, and the numbers are assuming the national average for non-green emissions. Some place like the Pacific Northwest (where there’s a LOT of EVs) would have a lower breakeven of miles driven.

I think the big issue with using off-the-shelf platforms is that they need it to sit lower than your typical Transit Connect van so they can drive up to the mailbox and put in mail pieces without needing to get out of the vehicle. I don’t think anything off-the-shelf rides low enough.

Or at least a plug-in hybrid system so you can have one common design for both urban and rural routes.

One of my favorite road signs to pass when I used to go to Oregon for work.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I was seeing 2017 Bolts LTs going for under $15k. They are a lot more now, but one of those would have been an awesome deal now that they are all getting a fresh battery pack.

So at $5k, is the Wuling Hong Guang Mini what we would consider a proper vehicle the the US, or is it more of a Changli competitor?

There’s a minigame involving the four-square worksheet.

As a follow-up, I just checked the Sound Transit ridership stats, and it has been brutal this past two years:

The pandemic has been a huge setback for mass transit in a lot of cities, though, and it will take a long time for ridership to recover.

That’s the Full Self Driving UI being displayed on screen, not the Autopilot interface.

Grunge also didn’t blow up until 1991/1992. Torch did say early 90s, though, so technically he was still correct.

I rarely drive people in my 4-door Corolla, but having easy access to the backseat via an extra set of doors comes in really handy. Back in March 2020, I shoved my wife’s office chair (a full sized adjustable one with arms and a tall back) into the back seat of my car when everyone bugged out of the office and they

The Forza Horizon festival has obviously expanded out to the stars and these are just barn finds.

I have read that drum brakes are making a return with EVs. Since the regen system in the motors does most of the braking, a drum brake actually work out better for when you occasionally need strong braking power.
