I don’t think it’s a scheme so much as it’s not a race to the bottom. Nintendo know their games will sell well for a long time at full price. Looking at BotW, it sold nearly 2 million units in the last 6 months. Could it have sold more at a lesser price, probably, but I’m not sure Nintendo cares too much. The bonus is…

Yea the pricing of their first party games are bullshit but they know people will buy them. I keep an eye on amazon for sales and sometimes you can get a good deal on the eshop. I got Splatoon 2 for $45.

I still say pricing is Nintendo’s biggest issue. I refuse to buy Zelda Breath of the Wild for $79.99 Canadian which is its full price. Like come on Nintendo.  I think they’re just leaving sales on the table now with their pricing scheme.
