This is so fucked. I was talking to an immigration attorney in the Philly area the other day. Normally, he has about 38 cases of people being detained from the tri-state area a year. Since Trump took office, he has 250 new cases in Philly alone. He’s had to hire 7 new employees to handle the cases. It is an outrage.

$75k to 100k a year is much higher than the figures that I’ve seen, which usually put it at around $40k/year. Regardless, if a large part of your motivation is economic, it is by and large more expensive for the State to put someone on death row because of the cost of appeals, which are guaranteed by right.
