I don’t doubt they can pull out some sales, I just think it’s a big ask for Jeep from a brand standpoint. Maybe if they’d gone with a Chrysler rebadge for the top trim it would make more sense to me since that was the pivot FCA seemed to make a few years back. From a branding standpoint I don’t think of Jeep as really

I’m sure in the $60k-$75k range these will sell fine for the MOPAR crowd. But much above that price, I don’t see any FCA dealer being equipped to handle those customers. One or two sales a year of a Hellcat or Viper in the past won’t help them try to move multiple per month. I’m sure it’s not like this everywhere, but

I think Hamilton said it best that now is not the right time for him to protest an issue in America when his voice won’t really be heard by those who need to hear it. I think the most powerful message he can send is to keep winning. By tying Schumacher in titles and besting him in wins this season it’s a more

Honestly, at this point I’m enjoying watching Red Bull try to disrupt the Mercedes 1-2. The midfield battles have been much better this season than years past, and watching to see how bad Ferrari can be is entertaining as well.

I used to DD an FR-S until moving to Chicago. From my experience driving through Hudson Valley and Finger Lakes region in winter, I don’t think it would be the best car for someone not used to RWD or MT. I was experienced in MT and even then I lost control of my FR-S the first time I ran into a snowy road that want

I feel his pain! Back in 2015 I moved to Chicago for work/grad school for my wife. I had to sell my FR-S because I was being provided a company car and my wife was going to grad school downtown so we ended up living in the Loop where it was $400+ a month to park. Paying for two cars would have been almost as much as

Too many literal jerks on this site...

It amazes me what Carvana and CarMax will offer for trade in. Last year we upgraded to a 19 Santa Fe from a 17 Civic hatch that we purchased for $21k in February 2017. We had almost 40k miles on it, dealer only offered us $14k trade in, while NADA was $15k. I’d decided to take it to CarMax the day before we went

I work for a very large conglomerate and a few years ago they switched our bonus from cash/extra 401k contribution to giving us stocks. The issue was that we got the stock on Friday, 1st quarter earnings were reported Saturday, and Monday morning we ended up with far less than the previous mode since earnings never

My local Cadillac dealers are both part of larger complexes with GMC or Chevrolet dealers sharing the service department. Yes you have some dedicated Cadillac service advisors in that side of the building, but the technicians doing the work are the same, and their bread and butter is full-size pickup/SUV work.

I remember that after Bubba Wallace won a truck race he was sponsored by Mastroes beard products. I’d never heard of it, but my beard was itchy that day so when I saw it at Target I got some wash and beard butter. I’ve now been buying their products for roughly 3 years now, just because I saw that sponsorship.

I’m a huge fan of short track racing, so keeping multiple races at the tracks less than 1.5 miles is fine. Other tracks with cookie cutter layouts and less than enjoyable racing need one date or a second date should be contingent on running a road course layout. We have so many great tracks in America, and far more

My state requires public school students to take drivers education for a full semester in high school. If I waited to take that class I’d have delayed getting my license by almost a year due to how the school calendar fell, so I enrolled in a private course on weeknights. The class had a few teenagers like me, but was

Fisker was on CNBC a few days ago (weeks maybe? No sleep from a newborn has my timeline off...) and they were grilling him about what they’re going to do different and better than the existing car companies. Fisker couldn’t really answer it, just talking about how great their ideas were and how the money was in the IP

Anyone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but Shimano also makes fishing gear, so would those numbers include that as well, or are we just talking their bicycle division? I haven’t been fishing in 20 years so I don’t know if its any good or not, but both of my road bikes have Shimano components and I have had no

Exactly. FIA wants a high wear tire to increase the number of pit stops. The issue is the teams don’t want to stop and switch, they want to ride that fine edge to 100% wear. Maybe it’s because I grew up watching NASCAR before F1, but I enjoy what pit strategy brings to a race. I don’t see it as manufactured drama

Lots of factors involved, energy dissipates through the parts in different ways depending on the design and suspension really isn’t design to take lateral impacts. Tesla May have skimped on the durability of the connection point that broke, but still under normal operation it should last at least 100k miles. Running

It is, but it’s not made to hold that weight after withstanding a lateral impact to the wheel. That’s the issue, there’s obvious collision damage to this vehicle. His insurance company would cover it, his warranty should not.

Thank you for having skills/time to point it out for those trying to call me out in my post for diagnosing the damage... Dude obviously hit a curb at some point causing stress to that ball joint and it failed under load during that right hand turn. Nothing to see here, it’s why my profession exists. I write estimates

It won’t always bend the rim, but there is visible damage to the rim, tire, and front bumper. The ball joint is the weakest point where energy would transfer to from a direct wheel impact. I’d trust that Tesla did inspect this vehicle in some capacity before denying the warranty claim. As I stated in my earlier post,
