Exactly. Outside of having a steel wire catch fence to collect the cars on the inside of that runoff, this was a collision that was bound to happen at some point. I’m not sure a broadside impact like that would have been survivable at the speed he got hit at, carbon fiber is strong but usually not in 2 directional

I watched the videos multiple times, as an insurance analyst part of my job is figuring out how collisions occurred at the loss locations, so I was into this. The biggest issue is carbon fiber losses it’s structural integrity after its damaged anywhere. My wife makes prosthetics for a living and has shown me how small

Small paved runoff, but the car ricocheted off the wall and back onto the racing surface and that’s where the fatal collision occurred. Unfortunately, carbon fiber is prone to catastrophic failure once the forces on it surpasses the designed intent or it takes even the smallest amount of damage elsewhere. SAFER

I told my wife the same thing, we still ended up with a new Santa Fe. I did win the argument for the 2.0T Limited though, Hyundai threw enough cash on the hood to drop the out the door price in line with the SEL Plus trims that were on the lot. So if he can find a 2019 on the lot still, an AWD is a “wagon” per Hyundai

This administration just wants to undo anything that was passed or regulated under Obama. Trump is too dumb to do it, but someone has his ear and they obviously want to erase the progress we made under the last administration.

My grandfather used to take me to McDonalds every Friday night as a kid in the mid 90s. I went from McNuggets, to the cheeseburger, eventually to the double cheeseburger when they offered a Mighty Kids Meal and tagged along with my younger sister, but my grandfather got the regular hamburger Happy Meal each time.

RBR and Honda need to figure out how to fix their starts. I’m shocked we haven’t seen a collision like this involving Max yet this season since he’s trying to make up lost positions in turns 1 and 2.

Doumare’s in Norfolk, VA. I lived in the area my whole life, only about 30-45 minutes from this place and I never went until I finally had my own car. The founder was the guy who “invented” the ice cream cone, and while it’s a full menu drive-in, I’ve never ordered anything other than a strawberry cone. I moved away

Yep, I’m wondering how big this actually is... It appears to be roughly the same size as GLC, just FWD so interior packaging can accommodate a 3rd row. I have to imagine that’s what this is, for the people who want a 3 row MB but can’t afford the GLE. Or they could get a fully loaded Palisade for way less and just not

The one time I went to a Cantina when I live in Chicago, they stopped serving booze at midnight... I was already drunk after a night at Headquarters when I arrived around 12:30am, so I crushed some bean burritos and a quesadilla anyways, but I wish I’d had a tasty alcoholic Mtn Dew with it rather than a Baja Blast.

Is that new? My in-laws purchased a pre-owned 13 Santa Fe Sport back in late 2015, early 2016. Car had nearly 60k miles on it when motor went out while I was driving it. Hyundai replaced engine under warranty and paid for a 4Runner from Enterprise for nearly 3 weeks while it was at the dealer.

We just got a 2019 Santa Fe Limited last month. While it’s nice and comfortable, it’s by no mean luxurious like my wife thinks it is. At the first oil change I told her to sit in a G70, which she like the interior a lot. By the time we’re ready to get ride of this, I’m hoping there will be plenty of pre-owner Genesis

Agree on the tires. Wife and I recently purchased a 19 Santa Fe, but we test drove Outback, CR-V, and RAV4. CR-V and RAV4 were much louder, I’m sure most of it had to do with the tires. All were higher trims, so it wasn’t a simple base model lacking sound deadening. When we traded in our 17 Civic the car had 38k miles

My introduction to the uniqueness of the RX-8 was a customers car who my techs didn’t warm up before driving it in and out of the shop for body repair. Coming out of the paint booth, car wouldn’t start... Engine was flooded, needed to be cleaned up, new plugs and dealer wouldn’t do that without new wires too. $1400

Most new cars have tracking technology built in from the start, and have had for quite some time. Cars that have the ability to connect you to an SOS/911 call have the ability to be tracked without much difficulty. I don’t know of any new car lenders who use the technology, but I know plenty of used car dealers who

I used to work as an insurance adjuster on north side of Chicago. One day I had to park 2 blocks away from the customers car due to the lack of parking in front of his building. Thermometer in the car said it was 5*F. Spent a total of about 25 minutes walking to his car, taking photos, and walking back to my car. I

I’ve slowly begun to agree that oval racing needs to be a far smaller part of open wheel racing. I miss Indy racing in VA, but don’t really miss them racing at Richmond. It’s a great track for NASCAR, but not Indy. VIR would be a great track for a race if it wasn’t in the middle of nowhere. I would make the 4ish hour

Thank you. I love how many people on here complain the cars are too heavy/too complicated now like they spend more time on the track than sitting in traffic. I miss my FR-S and wish it had more power, but it spent over 50% of its life in bumper to bumper traffic to and from work so the low power was great with the

Our neighborhood was built in 1918 and is on historic registry, so adding the outlet to his garage was more than just running some conduit from the breaker to a plug.

Just plugged a Supra VIN into my estimate software and it’s too new to decode. But I put in a BMW M240i VIN since the mirror appears to be the same, depending upon what the labor rates are in your area it’d be $120-$175. It’ll be interesting to see if Toyota offers body color parts. Typically replacement mirrors, door
