Here’s my top ten heavy metal albums of 1983:

It makes me sad, too. I miss all the wonderful conversations you could have on here and the intelligent discourse. It made the Av Club a really unique place to go.

There’s far too much extremism here anymore. The comments section on these politicized articles are the definition of a “mob mentality.”

Yeah, this is definitely sad news. This store always had a magical vibe when you were a kid. Lots of memories.

Del Toro is the guy who should be running this thing. He loves and respects the monsters and would certainly have more heart than some guys who worked on Fast and Furious movies!

I miss the old AV Club.

The true end of an era. Within two years, all three of the “classic” lineup are now gone. It’s impossible to measure the impact and influence from those early Motorhead releases. All of them rank among the genuine essentials in any hard rock and metal library, and Overkill and Ace Of Spades would be particularly

That was very disappointing. I enjoyed the idea of Bjorn becoming an explorer and finding new friends and foes, but they cut that plot thread very quickly. When this episode ended with Bjorn coming home, while a part of me was interested in how he was now thrown into this mess, another part was left confused and

This rating was much too kind. As tough as I have been on this show in the past, I was also willing to praise it’s strengths and hold out hope that it could improve.

This site sold it’s soul. Part of the joy of this site was always the excellent commentary offered, beside the quality articles. The Av Club is merely a shdow of it’s former self.

Eugene’s “character arc” was interesting but the struggle between good and evil was nixed by inconsistent writing. The author of this piece was right in the lack of commitment on the part of the character to really make a for a payoff. The actor has some good moments as he considers his success as a survivor vs. his

He named some great comedies. There was nothing trendy in his sort-of, kind-of answer. It was more like the answer of a true film buff. Film fans definitely should see stuff like Sons of the Desert, It’s a Gift, The General etc.

There were elements here that I found interesting. The power struggle and the threat of a worker’s uprising actually had promise, especially if we delved more into the psyche of Negan’s subordinates. That combined with bits of Negan and Gabriel’s scenes, suggested some of the desperation of the Romero films. However,

It’s like Romeroesque social commentary.

They actually are a pretty decent hard rock band. It’s a shame they have been relegated to the status of a “one (or two) hit wonder.”

This show has really been on a steady decline. There was very little entertaining in this hour as mindless action and poorly paced drama took center stage. It all feels too familiar as yet another character “goes off the deep end,” and has to wait for some returning ark. This show has milked that concept for far too

“The moon is rising, we don’t have time to lose!”

What about, “Chill out...dickwad?”

Sometimes it feels like Ezekiel is trying to be Dr. Frasier Crane in the zombie apocalypse.

I see I’m not the only one who noticed that extra behind Ezekiel! That was one of the more amusing parts of the episode...oh, that’s sad, isn’t it?
