I agree that mtg cards are a dumb investment in general, though somehow I’ve amassed around a $10k collection over the years (which I have no intention of ever selling). Kind of hilarious to me that if I counted it as an investment it would be like 5% of my portfolio.

My usual recipe follows all of these steps except the refrigeration one, but I use sourdough starter to ferment the bagels, so I really don’t think I’m missing out on tang. I’ll have to experiment to see if putting the formed bagels in the fridge makes a difference as far as structure/blistering.

Cryptocurrencies aren’t really untraceable - at least not most of them. In fact, bitcoin is in many ways much *more* traceable than cash since there is a history for each transaction.

I’ve often used sour milk while baking and sort of guiltily wondered if this was actually a health hazard. Good to know I’m in the clear!

Eh, I disagree. If you think something sucks, it’s fine to say that it sucks and twitter is a perfectly reasonable place to put that. Doesn’t make you an asshole.

Speaking as someone who receives negative reviews: I 100% do not need or want to be tagged on negative opinions of me. If I want to torture myself I can pull up goodreads and hit the “1 star” button.

The secret ingredients she’s mentioning are , and .

I think he does understand the constitution and 1984, but pretends not to in order to gain popularity points with the Trumpers. Which is even scarier, in a way.

If you gotta go back 10 years to find a tweet of someone being a shithead, I think it’s safe to assume they’ve changed.

Don’t make ironic edgy tweets” is probably a good idea, but... why are we using out-of-context screenshots of tweets from 10 years ago as a basis for judging someone’s character? Twitter mob mentality is really something.

Because the gains from the growth in your Roth IRA aren’t taxed. If the government allowed unlimited contributions to Roth IRA, it would be really easy to avoid capital gains taxes, and the government wants to limit people’s ability to avoid those taxes.

We just had our first kid - named him “Cyrus” since it’s not that common (but common enough that people recognize it), it’s got cool history behind it, and it’s the name of my great great grandpa. I thought it wouldn’t have the “how do you spell it” issue, but given that every single nurse so far has had to ask me how

If I were trying to follow the spirit of Buffet’s advice, I’d leave my kids a house, a car, and something like $20k per year between now and the age they reach 100. You could still probably do nothing with that amount, but you’re going to have to lead a fairly frugal life.

Among Us is a great game - simple to understand, simple to play, but tons to learn and get better at. I’ve played it with family, coworkers, friends - so far haven’t found anybody that disliked it.

I’m with you on my phone being a massive net positive. Is it sometimes a pointless distraction? Sure. But on the other hand, it’s incredibly valuable to have a notebook/dictionary/encyclopedia/calculator/mp3 player/camera/mini flashlight/planner/map/stopwatch/more in my pocket at all times. Definitely increases my

Even Minecraft is 11 years old at this point. Still very popular but not exactly the new hotness.

Sounds pretty damn reasonable for the most part. Though I’m also interested in what he’s planning on spending the new taxes on. Is he balancing the budget, or is he spending even more than we are now - and if so, what does he want to spend our taxes on?

I took his statement as him transferring the “I” to the recipient of the action - like if you were applying the golden rule. So not “Would I (customer) care if carts are strewn about?”. I thought he meant it more like “If I were an employee who had to pick up carts, would I care that someone left it here?”

It’s not: “Would I care that carts are strewn about?”

Reminds me of Adam Smith’s “Impartial Spectator” theory - the idea being that most of us decide what is moral by subconsciously thinking “What would a neutral observer think of this action I’m taking?”
